Why the Philips Center?

Katy Hartley

Katy Hartley

As we all enter an exciting new decade and strive to understand how the events of the past several years have impacted our thinking and our behavior, Philips has recently launched The Philips Center for Health & Well-being.

Philips recognizes that its long-term future depends in part on the role it plays in society and the role it plays in citizen’s health and well-being. As a leading health and well-being company, setting up dialogue and debate independent of products and services is a valuable means of helping Philips find its role going forward into the future.

The Philips Center for Health & Well-being has been dedicated to helping improve people’s quality of life around the world. With the work of the Center, we hope to build a basis of understanding of how people, wherever they are in the world, feel about their health and well-being. We believe that in order to comprehend a society, and to be able to improve the health and well-being of populations, you need to be able to understand citizens, whether they are in their role as patients, voters, employees or consumers.

A vital part of this understanding is to initiate and sustain dialogue with a diverse range of independent experts, who will meet Philips specialists to work together in multi-disciplinary think tanks defining and co-creating solutions to problems in the field of health and well-being. We believe that diverse groups can generate new, exciting and simple solutions to challenges in society.

getting involved with the Philips Center

I am a Professor of City Planning at San Diego State University and recently found your website. I am finishing editing a book on livable communities with Dr. Fritz Wagner, University of Washington and would love to get involved in the Center's activities. Could you please tell me how that might be accomplished. I would be delighted to send my CV to you for your consideration. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully, Roger W. Caves, Ph.D

Great Ideas

Hello Katy, I have two great idea's (I think they are great) that I want to share with Philips. They are all about health and well being, sense and simplicity, technology based and easy to experience. What is the best way to contribute to this Health and Well Being Center. One Idea is about a tool to help people to start implementing a healthy life style.
